Meadowlark Academy

Meadowlark Academy was our second puppy program. Many girls lives have been changed by the association with the dogs they have provided for Meadowlark Academy. When the dogs are completely trained they are turned over to a person with special needs. The dogs can be trained to do a multitude of tasks including:

* Search and Rescue

* Therapy

* Narcotics search

* Bomb detection

* Pulling a wheel chair

* Balance support

* Pick up objects

* Open doors

* Early seizure detection

* Hearing assistance

Meadowlark is happy to play a small part in helping assist those whose lives are positively affected by the dog training program. The program is not only helping special needs people, but troubled teens as well.

Dog Graduation

When a dog has successfully completed it’s final stages of training at Meadowlark Academy there is a special graduation ceremony held. The ceremony is a very special event. The girls are able to hand the dog over to their new owners. This can be a tearful event for all concerned. The new owners are so grateful to receive company that will now be by their side 24-7. The Meadowlark student realizes how significant the service they have performed really is. While they are sad at losing the dog, it helps to know that it will be taken care of by someone who really appreciates it.
